Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development NGO founded in Korea in 1991. It was granted General Consultative Status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). The aim is to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony. In Tanzania it was officially established on 2005 and our efforts work towards creating environment where children’s rights are protected and sustainable development of communities through empowerment, leadership and ownership.
Good Neighbors Tanzania is looking for individuals to join our highly motivated team in the following roles below;
Position: Project Officer (Health and WASH- 1 Post)
Reports to: Senior Project Officer, General Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam
Contract Duration: July-December, 2019
The Project Officer will support the delivery of health, water sanitation and hygiene programs with the aim of improving the well-being of the children. Based on this, multiple programs will be implemented such as children registration to health insurance, organizing community health workers, improvement of sanitation facilities, trainings, WASH clubs formation etc. .
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinating education and advocacy sector per approved plan, proposal or any GNTZ guideline.
- Preparation of activity plan of all projects after the project proposal has been approved by the International Head Quarter.
- Training and strengthening Advocacy clubs and support their activities in conveying and advocating child rights to the community.
- Survey, identify and formulating strategies for supporting sponsored children in education program.
- Cooperating with government to offer technical support and consultation on all technical related issues during project implementation e.g. Construction work, drilling water infrastructures, trainings etc.
- Cooperate with project stakeholders includes Community Development Committees, Village Government, community and others on an ongoing basis.
- Provide recommendations for smoothly operation of education and advocacy projects.
- Any other related duty as may be assigned.
Job Skills:
- Research and report writing skills and ability to interpret or present data.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of community and social issues
Qualification, experiences and competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, development studies, gender issues, education or any other related field.
- Three years (3) working experience in community development activities.
Position: Income Generation Officer (Livestock and agriculture 1 Post)
Reports to: Income Generation Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam
Contract Duration: July-December, 2019
The Income Generation Officer will be responsible to manage Income generation projects to increase income to beneficiaries through designed programs, practical training and monitoring the project progress. .
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible to manage income generation projects related to livestock and agriculture to organize income generation groups in Madale, Fukayosi, Bagamoyo, Kigamboni, and Salasala community development projects.
- Conduct market research and write proposals in order to develop income generation activities
- Organize, conduct and coordinate conferences, seminars, workshops and other events for income-generation participant groups
- Partner with project stakeholders for effectively plan, implement, and monitor Income Generation activities
- Monitoring project progress and identify the gaps to provide recommendations
- Make follow up of repayment for all beneficiaries who were given loan with revolving fund and make production report.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and semi-annual reports timely
- Any other related duties as may be assigned
Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal command of English and Swahili.
- Knowledge of Project Cycle Management, Humanitarian Principles and cultural awareness.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Offices.
Qualification and experiences
- Bachelor Degree in Community Development, Community Economics, Agri business, Business Administration or related field.
- Three years (3) experience in microfinance or income generation activities through agriculture or livestock keeping.

- Coordinating Health and WASH sector in Madale, Bagamoyo, Kigamboni, Salasala, and Fukayosi Community Development Projects (CDPs) per approved plan
- Preparing activity plans for all projects after project proposal has been approved by the International Head Quarter.
- Preparing budget requests, requisition accordingly and submits for approval on time
- Support vulnerable children/sponsored children to access medical services through registering them with CHF and NHIF insurance and attend Health case management.
- Establish and training Community Health Workers (CHWs) group who provide health education to majority of community.
- Prepare and submit report for all activities implemented in Health sector and submit to General Manager by the specified due date.
- Supporting WASH activities by making follow up on WASH clubs, water infrastructure management as per approved plan.
- Any other related duty as may be assigned
Competencies
- Knowledge on Project planning, operation, management, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Excellent communication skills.
Qualification and experiences
- Bachelor degree in public health, social science, project planning, community development and any other related field from a recognized institution.
- Three years (3) experience in community development and related projects.
