SIMBA SPORTS CLUB COMPANY LIMITED (Simba) is a company responsible for the management and running of the 83-year-old club, Simba Sports Club, which was founded in 1936 and is a registered member of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
Simba’s mission is to promote, advance, foster and cultivate the game of football in Tanzania while developing top-level football players to be able to compete at the highest level nationally, regionally and continently. With the ongoing rapid transformation that tne Club is undertaking, we intended to create an efficient and vibrant commercial entity that will contribute very positively to the development of the football club industry in Tanzania.
In light of the above, Simba is seeking applications from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals (local or foreign) to fill up the following positions below:
Office Coordinator / Manager
Summary:
This position is the first point of contact to anyone having work or business for the club. The role involves communicating and effectively handling all administrative business requirements, including security, hospitality managements, schedule organization and facility resources coordination.
Responsibilities:
Provide courteous, helpful and prompt service both on and off the club’s official telephone with public, partners and employees
Responsible for organization and first-class appearance of reception, lobby and mail room
Mail management (opening, date stamping and distribution to inboxes), preparation of inter-office deliveries (other offices, retail stores)
Coordinate with relevant office staff to maintain adequate levels of office supplies
Miscellaneous administrative support for other departments offices o Maintain up to date listing of meeting room capabilities and schedules
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in administration or relevant field
2+ years of hands on administrative support experience
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook a must
Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
Excellent research skills and communications skills – written and verbal
Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize projects
Digital Platforms Officer
Summary:
Responsible and in charge of the Simba Digital Platforms Department for photography/videography and social media of Simba teams players and staff during training, match day and club events, including promotion through social media.
Responsibilities:
Use artistic vision to take pictures of fast-moving players during live games using manual and/or digital cameras
Use specialized equipment such as high-definition lenses and multishutter-speed camera during games and then scan through the images to choose best photo for publication or sale
Editing pictures/videos of players and staff during training, match day and club events
Actively update the club’s different social media platforms throughout the week
Promote club’s key activities and events throughout the year
Collaborate with all club staff to ensure their message and stories are being continually promoted and communicated
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Strong photography/videography skills required, accompanied with past experience in relevant field
Strong understanding of the club’s social media strategy and willingness to follow it
Understanding on how to create media content for use on social media without getting drawn into negative or personal discussions
Media Officer
Summary:
Responsible for implementing key aspects of the club’s media strategy and raising the profile of the club and its campaigns. The Media Officer prepares responses to media enquiries and builds contacts with journalists across national, local, trade and consumer media with the aim of raising Simba’s profile, promoting Simba’s work and improving media portrayals of mental health issues.
Responsibilities:
Be responsible to run and manage Simba Newspapers and publications.
Providing an effective service to journalists by responding to enquiries and providing information, as a core member of the media team.
Devising, under the direction of the Chief Commercial Officer, and implementing media strategies for local and national Simba campaigns.
Working alongside the club’s policy team to develop media responses to major Government announcements and high-profile policy issues, producing press releases and quotes and briefing/advising the Chief Executive, Directors and relevant simba staff.
Organising media interviews as required with the club’s Chief Executive, Directors, and other spokespeople and service users, providing them with full pre-interview briefings.
Researching, writing and distributing press releases to local, regional and national media to secure media coverage for media relations priorities and specific the club’s campaigns.
Organising press events, such as press launches and photo calls. Liaising with outside suppliers and agencies.
Creating and maintaining contacts with national, regional, trade and consumer journalists
Coordinating targeted media mailings.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience of media relations in a press office or in a commercial PR setting actively promoting stories to the media
Experience of writing press releases, and the proven ability to write material successfully targeted at a variety of media outlets
Experience of organising media events, launches and photo calls
Strong news sense and a good knowledge of the needs of national and regional media.
Experience of word processing packages and organising targeted press mail-outs using a media database system.
Ability to work proactively on own initiative, and to work flexibly as part of a team
Ability to create and maintain a network of media contacts
A proven high standard of written English, and demonstrable oral communication and interpersonal skills
Membership Manager
Summary:
This position is responsible for development of both professional and corporate membership, including participation in events and continuing education seminars as opportunities to build relationships.
Responsibilities:
Develop goals and action plans with Executive Director for membership development and retention, including corporate sponsorships.
Provide analysis of existing programmatic and membership materials as well as membership retention rates and opportunities for improvement.
Develop strategic plan for expanding corporate sponsorship program, improving member benefit offerings, and increasing overall membership.
Develop and implement strategy for increasing non-dues revenue.
Write membership and sponsorship recruitment materials, appeal letters, brochures, etc.
Initiate internal communications, including developing newsletter content, email blasts, event announcements, awareness of member benefits, etc.
Assist in creating and updating membership and marketing materials, including letters, flyers for upcoming events, welcome packets, fact sheets, directories, surveys, and others
Identify, recruit, provide member services and track benefits provided to corporate sponsors to ensure that all sponsors receive benefits offered
Required Skills:
Excellent knowledge of marketing and customer service, including setting up and managing tickler files.
Comfortable writing strategic plans, analyzing markets and marketing potential.
Skilled at writing promotional materials, membership materials, and developing newsletter content.
Adept at making a sales pitch, comfortable with fundraising, and recruiting new corporate partners
Experience required:
At least two years marketing experience, preferably with a membership organization
Computer literacy is must have, o Bachelor’s degree of relevant field
Financial management and business skills are a pre requisite.
Junior Accountant
Summary:
Responsible for all accounting activities relating to accounts receivables, including month end close, accounts reconciliation, credit monitoring and reporting. Providing financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts and preparing reports.
Responsibilities:
Maintain financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts
Reconcile general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information
Provide financial status information by preparing special reports o Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries
Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts
Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures by complying with government financial legal requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance o 2+ years’ experience in accounting and/or finance o Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook a must
Must be deadline driven, results-oriented, highly responsible and accountable, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be extremely proactive, have strong initiative and be self- motivated
Excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation, and a high degree of accuracy are all essential
Strong problem-solving decision-making skills; must have strong accounting and analytical skills
Senior Accountant
Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for in-depth analysis and recording of sales and cost of sales (COS) related accounting topics to ensure the club’s sales and margin are accurately stated. Ensuring the integrity of accounting information is recordea, verified and consolidate when entering transactions.
Responsibilities:
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that results in accurate and on-time financial reporting to accounting department and board
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions whilst resolving discrepancies
Prepare external audit requests and complete annual internal tax reporting; complying with legal and government requirements
Identify, implement, and/or support process improvements in the club’s areas of responsibility
Develop process guides for defined areas to ensure standardized execution of tasks and cross-train club associates as requested
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance o 4+ years’ experience in accounting and/or finance o Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook a must

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Summary
CEO serves the club and together with the Board, is responsible for executing the strategic objectives of the organization. The CEO will assure the club remains relevant to the community, achieves on-field success and is accountable to the diverse constituents and stakeholders. The Board delegates responsibility for management and day-to-day operations to the CEO and that person has the authority to carry out these responsibilities in accordance with the direction, policies and governance models established by the Board. The CEO provides direction, allowing the board to carry out its governance functions.
Responsibilities:
Enforce the club’s values, set objectives for performance success and establish short/long-term goals of the organization.
Monitor and evaluate club’s relevancy to local community as an agent for social engagement that leads to aligned commercial opportunities
Keep board fully informed of key operations that directly influence the execution of club’s strategic plan. This includes identification of problems/opportunities, formulating solutions/responses whilst providing recommendations for the board
Ensure the development and operation of finance management systems and reports that allow for quality decision making
Ensure the club has a long-term strategy to ensure long term commercial sustainability
Management & Administration
Provide general oversight of all club activities, manage day-to-day operations and assure club is running efficient organization
Assure a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and volunteers. Implement processes for selecting developing, motivating ana evaluating staff and volunteers
Recommend staffing to board of directors, recruit key personnel, negotiate professional contracts and ensure that appropriate salary structures are developed and maintained
Specify accountabilities for executive management and evaluate their performance on a regular basis
Draft, monitor and achieve budget objectives with the support of the CFO
Oversee all fiscal activities of the organization
Ensure financing to support short and long-term goals and objectives
Participate actively in identifying, cultivating and soliciting funding prospects
In liaison with CFO, provide financial quality reports to the board
Facilitate integration of the club into the community by ensuring effective marketing and communication activities
Act as an advocate within the public and private sectors for issues relevant to the club, its services and constituencies
Listen to stakeholders, volunteers, sponsors and the community in order to improve and generate community involvement.
Serve as chief spokesperson for the club, assuring proper representation of the club to the community by initiating, developing and maintaining cooperative relationships with key constituencies and stakeholders
Requirements:
BSc/BA in Business Administration, Economics, Management or relevant field; MSc/ MBA preferred
15+ years of proven experience as top Executive position preferably in sports field
Proven ability to manage an organization through a period of considerable structural and cultural change
Excellent communication and public speaking skills
Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, decision-making and leadership abilities
Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles
Familiarity with diverse business functions i.e. marketing, PR, finance, etc.
Experience in working with a Boards of Directors and understanding of football clubs
Familiarity with Tanzania Football League Rules and Regulations
Familiarity with CAF and FIFA Rules o Experience in CAF Champions League
Experience in working with Multi Cultural groups
Track record of sports management background
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Summary:
CFO will be responsible for leading all aspects of the finance function at the club. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the CEO and working closely with the organization’s senior management team, board and chairman.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the finance team to ensure the club meets all its financial obligations
Work closely with CEO and COO to ensure the timely and accurate provision of financial information to support ongoing business operations and provide decision support
Represent the club with external stakeholders including football bodies, auditors, banking partners, suppliers, commercial partners and the local community agencies
Ensuring the club operates within its financial means
Overseeing the development and implementation of long-term financial plans agreed by the board and CEO
Ensuring the club’s financial plan is broadly in balance, with its income and expenditure matched over the medium term witn its financial resources
Ensure the clubs financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
Overall responsibility for delivering monthly / quarterly accounts, annual audit and statutory accounts
Working with the senior management team to prepare annual budgets and provide quarterly forecasts
Manage, update and implement financial policies and procedures
Lead on financial risk management and mitigation
Requirements:
BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is preferred o CPA is a strong advantage
7+ years of proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role
In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. sap)
Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, decision-making and leadership abilities
Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Summary:
The COO will provide leadership and strategic direction to the club whilst managing day-to-day functions of the club. The COO plays an influential role in furthering the clubs development, both strategically and operationally. In particular, they will be responsible for building and developing the management team fit for the purpose of advancing the club.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
Ensuring the club complies with all TFF and other FIFA regulations
Developing executive team members to meet agreed performance targets
Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance
Maintaining and developing the culture, values and reputation of the club with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
With respect to operational matters, ensure communications, resolution of issues and project development;
Coordinate the sustainability strategies and projects of the Club
Assess and manage the principal risks of the Club’s day to day business operations (proposals, projects and staffing etc)
Maintain and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders
Keep the CEO fully informed in a timely and candid manner of the conduct of the day-today operations of the Club towards the achievement of its established goals ana of all material deviations from the goals or objectives and policies established by the Board.
Financial controls are in place and budget targets are delivered and efficiencies are realised
Club Competition obligations are met e.g. Premier League, Tanzania FA, CAF and any other club sanctioned Competitions.
Communication and cross functional planning across the business is effectively managed
Maintain continuous learning through an effective debrief process
Requirements:
BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is preferred
10+ years of proven experience as COO or relevant role
Strong understanding of business functions such as HR, finance, marketing, etc.
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics
Outstanding organizational, problem-solving,
decision-making and leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
