Position: Plant Operator I  5 Posts
Reporting to: Packing Plant Supervisor
Location: Tanga

Key responsibility

  • Inspect rotary packer line and operate to load cement into trucks, bulk tanker, jumbo trucks and rail wagons and ensure accurate bags weight.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Inspect machines and bagging into cement bags – ensure that packer machines and bulk and Jumbo loading machine are running smoothly; report any unusual situation; ensure accurate packing as per product requirements and report bag performance while loading cement.
  •  Operate all machine at Packing Plant including forklift – follow work instructions and procedure; ensure that the working area is cleaned; involved in the jumbo loading and other activities which may require the use of forklift and inspect and report plant equipment deficiencies/failures.
  • Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility.
  • Environment: Ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his/her area.


Education

  • O-level and/or A-level education or its equivalent.
  • Trade test certificate in mechanical or electrical trade


Knowledge and Specific Experience

  • One (1) year experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Basic knowledge on cement packing machine
  • Able to plan own activities.
  • Problem solving.
  • Able to take and follow instructions. 


Position: Plant Attendant 3 Posts
Reporting to: Production Shift Supervisor
Location: Tanga

Key responsibility

  • General plant housekeeping, refractory works, cleaning blockages as well as various jobs related toproduction activities. 


Principal Accountabilities

  • Inspect plant and maintain plant housekeeping.
  • Ensure plant availability, reporting all deviations to Process Supervisor, clean blockages.
  • Ensure proper feeding materials to hopper as per requirement from process operator.
  • Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility.
  • Environment: Ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his/her area. 


Education

  • O-level or A-level education or its equivalent.
  • Trade Test qualification. 


Knowledge and Specific Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in cement process operations;
  • Basic written and spoken English;
  • Good knowledge of principles of production processes;
  • Basic understanding of maintenance requirements of process plants;
  • Able to inspect and report deviations;
  • Good knowledge of safety procedures and
  • Able to work independently on set procedures. 


Position: Packaging & Dispatch Supt 
Reporting to: Quarry, Packaging & Dispatch Manager
Location: Tanga

Key responsibility

  • Overall in charge in dispatching cement via three packers by loading 50kgs into trucks and rail wagons, 30t bulk truck, 1500kgs jumbo bags and clinker dispatching by loading onto trucks and wagons. 


Principal Accountabilities

  • Packing plant operations: Packer no.1 – 3 and clinker dispatching.
  • Continual improvement: Lead, participate, contribute and execute in cost saving initiatives and equipment efficiency improvement programs. Identify opportunities to decrease production cost of cement.
  • Loading Contractor: Coordinates optimal utilization of casuals supplied by contractor to load cement into trucks, wagons, bulk and jumbo bags.
  • Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility.
  • Environment: Ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his/her area. 


Education

  • BSc. Chemical and Processing/Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer with ERB Tanzania. 


Knowledge and Specific Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in cement industry or any manufacturing industry

Position: Lubricator 2 Posts
Reporting to: Preventive Maintenance Lubrication Supervisor
Location: Tanga

General Description
Responsible for machine lubrication in each shop on daily basis as per plan. Responsible for checking the lubrication units and ensure they are in a good housekeeping with no lubricants leaks. Efficiently use of lubricants as per machine requirement without wastage and keep stocks records properly. Responsible for inspection and taking corrective measure on any anomaly picked up on respective machine(s).

Principal Accountabilities

  • Carry out lubrication according to schedule and checklist. Check whilst doing this for any abnormalities in the machine and report same.
  • Housekeeping.
  • Check consumption pattern of lubricants for each machine and report any unusual patterns.
  • Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility.
  • Environment: Ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his/her area. 


Education

  • Trade Test Grade I or Full Technician or NTA level 6 in Mechanical Engineering field. 


Knowledge and Specific Experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience in lubrication of machines and/or mechanical fitting experience in people management
  • Good on fault finding
  • Able to plan own activities
  • Able to think himself in problem solving
  • Fairy independent
  • Able to take and follow instructions
  • Good understanding of maintenance requirement of mechanical equipment 


Position: Fitter 2 Posts
Reporting to: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Tanga

Key responsibility

  • Perform professional fitting jobs ensuring plant availability. 


Principal Accountabilities

  • Perform professional fitting or cutting jobs as instructed.
  • Check fitting equipment and report problems or repair as necessary.
  • Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility.
  • Environment: Ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his/her area. 


Education

  • O-level and/or A-level education or its equivalent.
  • Full Technician or NTA level 6 in Mechanical Engineering or Trade Test certification in fitter mechanics. 


Knowledge and Specific Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in mechanics fitting jobs.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Good on fault finding.
  • Able to plan own activities.

Position: Earth Moving Equipment Operator III 2 Posts
Reporting to: Quarry Shift Supervisor
Location: Tanga

Key responsibility

  • Operate earth moving equipment at Quarry or any part of the plant. 


Principal Accountabilities

  • Vehicle inspection: Ensure that all abnormal conditions before, during and after operating the equipment are reported through thorough inspection.
  • Operate equipment efficiently: Ensure appropriate speed to optimize fuel consumption, minimize loading time, minimize cycle time, reduce wear and tear, maximize production rate of the equipment and comply with all safety signs.
  • Haul material from Quarry to Crusher or from stockpile to feeding plant point: Ensure efficient hauling of materials to meet the required target and quality compliance.
  • Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility;
  • Environment- ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his/her area. 


Education

  • O-level and/or A-level education or its equivalent
  • Trade Test in Heavy Equipment Operations
  • Driving License class E/C 


Knowledge and Specific Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in earth moving equipment operations.
  • Basic written and spoken English
  • Good knowledge of principles of operation of earth moving equipment
  • Basic understanding of maintenance requirements of earth moving equipment
  • Able to check alignment of belts
  • Good knowledge of safety procedures
  • Knowledge of log sheet procedures
  • Sufficient knowledge on operating, stopping and starting procedures
  • Able to give cooperation on EME operators, raw mill and laboratory people
