Zambia Seed Company Limited (ZAMSEED) is a regional seed company operating in Zambia and number of SADC/COMESA countries. Its main objectives is to develop, produce and market superior quality seed for the agriculture markets of the sub-Sahara regions and beyond
Due to regional expansions ZAMSEED is seeking applicants from suitably qualified person to fiil the following based Mbeya in Tanzania.
Position: COUNTRY LEAD – ZAMSEED TANZANIA (2 Positions)
The country lead will be responsible for leading the Tanzania team, developing business relationships, increasing market share and introducing new products on the market. HE/SHE will be link between ZAMSEED and the government and government bodies, NGO’S and other key stakeholder. All administrative and legal issues, such as compliance, local staff ect will be managed by the country lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, budgeting, marketing and lead Tanzania operations from Zamseed
- Expand sales and customer based from current levels
- Plan for seed imports by initiating documentation through relevant authorities and monitoring seed movement up to delivery
- Expand customers base through personal contacts and extension services system
- Identify and build relationship with key growers and business partners with the intent to help customers understand the benefit, positioning and placement of hybrids, varieties, traits and crop protections products offered
- Manage current customers and achieve sales goals in the assignment territory in support of the business strategy and marketing plan
- Build and continually develop and engaged customer and business partners network
- Build relationship with key customers and prospect to increase the sales of products in the assigned territory
- Manage distribution of products and support logistic activities
- Actively promote marketing strategies and campaigns and provide feedback to Zambia
- Keep up to date with local market trends, customers’ needs competitive products programs and pricing structures and provide ongoing feedback to sales and marketing teams
- Work all collaborative with business partners field scientist/agronomist/nutritionist and account manage to team sell and deliver value
- Recruit, train, develop and motivate a customer network within the territory aimed at increasing/retaining sales volume
- Effectively and proactive manage customers services calls and or complains
- Professional conduct meetings with business partner and grower customers/prospects
- Manage expenses budget and marketing programs with fiduciary and ethical responsibility
- Provide timely product forecast for the assigned territory through an understanding of local customer’s needs, working with reselling dealers and collaboration with local agronomist current and new products in the portfolio
- Conduct business in a safe and ethical manner , maintain company vehicle and records properly maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving records
- Conduct all activities with a high level of professionalism and represent the company and the agricultural industry
Qualification:
- Bachelor degree in agriculture science, agribusiness, marketing, sales, administration, finance or related field required, master’s degree preferred
- Full membership with required association
- At least 10 years of experience in Agriculture/ agribusiness related field or marketing and sales management
- Experience with agricultural marketing and sales
- Demonstrated good understanding of accounting and financial planning and management
- Leadership, mentor-ship and coaching abilities required
- Strong communication abilities excellent English writing, speaking and reading skills required
- A valid driving license
- Must be result oriented and able to work with a minimum supervisor
