The Child Friendly Spaces Project Assistant will implement activities at the Child Friendly Space in Nduta final delivery point during the days of food distribution.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the child –friendly space atmosphere is safe and child- friendly for all the children.
- Supervise and support children’s play activities at the FDP during food distribution days.
- Conduct a daily assessment of the children and ensure a variety of structured games and activities within the Child Friendly Space.
- Ensure that all the needs of children are catered for with regards to different ages, genders and abilities.
- Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected.
- Establish a rotation system to promote the sharing of equipment and games between Children
- Be a positive role model and demonstrate conflict-solving behaviors.
- Ensure that all games and equipment are accounted for and stored securely at the end of the day.
- Liaise with parents and the community regularly to keep them informed of any developments or problems within the Child Friendly Space and surrounding areas.
- Monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the Child Friendly space.
- Degree/ Diploma in sociology, psychology, social work or related field International Development, Social Science or related field or significant relevant work experience
- At least 2 year’s working experience in a similar role with a good awareness of current issues in the field of development, emergencies and familiarity with children’s issues in particular
- Experience in facilitating the implementation and monitoring of community managed projects with an NGO environment and computer literate.
