Position Description

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit Maintenance Scheduler to join our team. The successful candidate for this position is expected to align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within his team and the business and on a practical note will ensure activities in the Planning Section are effectively planned and undertaken in a safe and cost effective manner to achieve targets in accordance to BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures.


Reporting to: Process Mechanical Section Leader

Duration: Permanent


Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitor the execution of the work of pertaining to critical information that must be recorded for future references
  • Achieve the departmental and organizational objectives.
  • To ensure proper scheduling of planned jobs for carrying out preventive maintenance.
  • Verify all completed work orders are closed off for the previous period
  • To ensure proper scheduling of planned jobs for carrying out preventive maintenance.
  • To coordinate with the planners and supervisors to ensure timely completion of break down maintenances.
  • Reports status of all shutdowns and preventative maintenance to supervisor.
  • Formulates weekly schedule of estimated jobs and assigns to appropriate shops; coordinates with material control on material status.
  • To review, verify, follow up and return completed on all raised work order.
  • Ensure all non-compliances are reported to the planning section and necessary corrective and preventive actions to be taken.
  • Optimize Bulyanhulu's maintenance performance by using best practices maintenance planning and scheduling techniques and the Pronto maintenance management system.
  • Provide materials, tools, services and equipment through requisitioning, storehouse stock, or rentals (for non-emergency work only).
  • Achieve the departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Continual improvement initiatives and cost control measures.
  • Qualification Requirements
  • Mechanical / Electrical Certificate – (VETA Grade I, FTC, Diploma)
  • Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years in maintenance and planning experience.
  • Experience in a mining environment is highly desirable
  • Skills / Knowledge Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand Process and Mechanical drawing
  • Excellent communication in English and Swahili language
  • Knowledge in Computer Software
  • Knowledge in using computerized maintenance management system (i.e. Pronto)
  • Solid understand of maintenance planning and sched
