Job Description
WIMA is an initiative that started in 2019 to close the gender gap in the corporate leadership by
promoting visibility, training and honoring women leaders for their achievements. Women In
Management Africa (WIMA) promote gender parity and encourage female participation in the
labor force by honoring Professional Women in their careers and motivate more women to take
leadership roles in the workplace. Even in today’s modern workplace, women face many barriers,
including lower pay for equivalent positions, unconscious bias, and low number of women in
senior positions. The Main Objective of this Initiative for Women Professionals is to enhance the
importance of actively involving Women in Senior Level roles and their challenges through their representative organizations.
Objectives
To increase visibility for women leaders by profiling them through different media channels
Identify education and training workshops that are designed by women for women and help them address gender disparity issues in the work environments.
To build a wide database of highly qualified female professionals across multiple sectors to serve as board members and C-Level executives in private sector.
Women in Management will provide mentorship and encourage and develop emerging Talented female professionals to be inspired in their careers and being role models to them

Duties and Responsibilities
Project coordination support
In all identified projects / programmes, the project coordinator will, amongst others:
Provide programme and administrative support to the programme team in the preparation
of various project documents, such as work plans, budgets, reports and proposals on
programme implementation arrangements..
Your role is key to the success of our Mentoring Programme as you will be working with our
inspiring corporate mentors.
You will be responsible for facilitating their induction and training, supporting them on their
individual journey's through the programme and ensuring relevant feedback is given for
them to share with their employer.
Together with other team members, recruit and interview mentors; match mentors with
mentees; and supervise the programme as well as organize kick-offs and other program events.
Provide proposal development support and work across units, if required
Provide research assistance
Event management Support
This role involves planning and managing events of varying sizes and purposes either online or
offline. This includes physical and virtual events. Project coordinator has to understand what it
takes to make sure the logistics work out, keep everything within the allocated budget and
ensure that the event itself is carried out smoothly.
Here are the most essential duties and responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the programme team in the organization of events,
meetings and workshops, seminars, conferences etc.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues
Planning event details and aspects, including seating, dining and guests
Creating reliable financial reports and collecting payments on time
Remaining under budget with all costs
Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise
Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event
Maintaining a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of event
Administrative Support
Set up appointments with high profile leaders for media or speaking engagements or video interviews or any visibility activities to promote the women leaders organized by WIMA
Maintain and organize up-to-date hard and electronic files for easy access and retrieval.
Ensure safekeeping of confidential materials.
Create and maintain files of correspondence/documents and electronically received information, and ensure up-to- date filing. Maintain both hardcopies and electronic copies of the office records and reference files on various subjects.
Prepare presentation material/slides in Power-point for presentations for the
meetings/workshops and keep all papers ready for meetings.
Social media management of WIMA
content development of WIMA social media pages, website, newsletters and other material
Liase with the graphic designer and post the content at scheduled times
Facilitate scaling brand and company awareness through various social media channels
Supervise all aspects of social media interaction between customers and the company, and ensure a positive customer service experience
Support resource mobilisation
Contribute to the consolidation of the proposal reports
Coordinate networks meetings for proposal development and support
Research possible partners or project donors/ sponsors that could add value to WIM
Requirements
Completion of Tertiary education is required.
A minimum university degree (or equivalent) to bachelor’s degree in Public
Administration, Business, Economics, and/or Entrepreneurship or related field is an asset
2 years’ experience gained in project coordination
Some experience in women’s economic empowerment
Technical competencies (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
Knowledge of women leadership and issues of women’s empowerment and girl childbe

Must be keen to dedicate your time and efforts towards active gender equality and
leadership transformation activism
Understanding of networking and building partnerships with a range of individuals and
organizations in the same field of work
Good communication and writing abilities in English with the ability to produce clearly written reports
Good research skills
Experience in donor-funded project and events coordinatio
Ability to use information and communication technology as a tool and resources
Ability to work independently and in “virtual” teams
Good MS-Office computer skills including data capture
