System Administrator: IT Infrastructure

Role purpose:
The System Administrator’s role is to manage the system’s infrastructure which includes Systems Security, backups, performance management, virtual and cloud infrastructure and Server Operating systems under scope.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
1.SYSTEMS DEPLOYMENT
Install, configure, test, automate and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
2.SYSTEMS MAINTANANCE & MONITORING
Proactively Monitor systems performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and Perform maintenance activities to the systems and report accordingly.
3.SYSTEMS SECURITY & COMPLIANCE
Ensure all systems are configured securely as per the existing policies, processes and best practices also Perform checklists and User reviews as assigned by your manager.
4.BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT
Ensure all systems are configured for backup as per systems criticality and updating technical recovery plan for all assigned systems.
5.CUSTOMER OR END USER SUPPORT
Provide 1st, 2nd level support whenever required and Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution on IT systems and RCA (root cause analysis) for incidents.
6.SELF DEVELOPMENT
Being up to date with technology.
Description
Technical/professional qualifications:
- Degree or Advance diploma in Computer science,
- 1 to 2 years Experience in IT Operations
- Knowledge in Centralized Netapp Storage
- Knowledge on Virtual and Cloud systems, (VMWARE).
- RDBMS Databases – MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Maria etc
- Windows Server 2012 and above, Redhat UNIX/Linux Operating Systems
- Knowledge on HP/Dell/Oracle Hardware
