CRDB Bank PLC is looking for suitable person to fill a vacant position of Regulatory
Assurance Management - Officer in the Department of Risk & Compliance at the Head Office,
in Dar es Salaam.
Job Purpose:
Undertake compliance reviews, and support business through provision of relevant
recommendations, implementation and corrective measures and follow-ups, and providing
compliance advisory services (strategic, tactic and transactional day-to-day compliance advice
and direction) and specific recommendations to adequately manage compliance risks related to
regulatory and conduct aspects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the compliance risk assessment, ensuring regulatory compliance risks are appropriately identified, assessed, and managed by engaging appropriate business units and determine a plan to address those risks.
- Execution of regulatory monitoring and testing strategies for the entire bank: enhance compliance monitoring of applicable rules and regulations, internal policies, procedures and guidelines to enable effective identification and mitigation of all compliance risk elements.
- Manage the bank’s Regulatory Obligation Matrix: ensuring is up to date and all regulatory requirements are fully captured and understood by businesses & support functions.
- Oversight of the regulatory reporting process to regulators, ensuring complete, accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage the bank’s Regulatory Liaison Tracker to ensure all requirements are attended consistent with deadlines.
- Ensure that all issues or comments from regulators are addressed and incorporated into policies, procedures, and training as necessary and shared across Lines of Businesses.
- Maintain records and reports of meetings and correspondences with regulators and ensure proper follow - up on open commitments as necessary.
- Review new products, projects, business initiatives and agreements, monitor and develop compliance profiles of new areas of activities.
- Ensure day-to-day monitoring and reporting of compliance risks.
- Ensure understanding of relevant regulatory requirements in order to provide advice and guidance to compliance team and internal stakeholders.
- Inform on an ongoing basis of any regulatory breaches and other regulatory issues/concerns.
- Identify and keep abreast of new laws and changes to laws and regulations, in order to be up to date with current compliance requirements.
- Assist the Regulatory Assurance Manager with compliance management and reporting.
- Timely compilation of reports from Zonal Risk and Compliance Analysts.
- Assist in the preparation of standard and ad-hoc information and data reports to regulators and other stakeholders as required.
- Attend professional education courses, seminars and conferences, identify and analyze new laws and changes to laws and regulations.
- Strong understanding of key regulatory requirements and implications to businesses.
- Good knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and banking laws.
- Good performance management skills and effective risk management and be able to promote strong risk management culture.
- Good understanding of the Core Banking System, bank's products, all bank policies, operational procedures and operating systems with knowledge of the controls and procedures on branch operations.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Good understanding and appreciation of Compliance Risk Management principals and standards; regulatory requirements and best practices relevant to banking.
- Basic understanding of Enterprise Risk Management framework and compliance control environment.
- Good presentation skills with ability to prepare quality reports.
- Attentive to details, with intellectual and analytical skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Banking experience of at least 2 years preferably in Regulatory Compliance/ Audit/
- Risk management or Legal, with exposure in preparing analytical management reports and stakeholders engagement.
- University Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Finance/ Law/ Economics / Banking /Accounting or equivalent qualifications.
- Possession of the following qualifications will be an added advantage: CRCM, CPA, CAMS.
