KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

WFP is implementing Nutrition and Climate Smart Agriculture programs in Dodoma and Singida regions under its Country Strategic Plan which ends in June 2021.  Operating under close supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO), the Programme Associate will have the following responsibilities: 

Oversee implementation of nutrition and agriculture activities and analyse program activities to ensure desired results are being achieved efficiently
Integrate community approachies,gender and capacity building into all activities and ensure that there are strong linkages between program activities
Participate in weekly meetings with programme staff to review progress,identify challenges,coordinate and update implementation plans
Prepaire monthly process monitoring plans,track progress of monitoring visits,analyse the Process Monitoring Dashboard,escalate significant issues,agree on actions and ensure actions are implemented
Supervise Monitoring Assistants and develop their capacity
Ensure strong cooperation and coordination with local government authorities and cooperation partners
Participate in district and regional forums,consultative and steering commitee meetings to ensure WFP’s objectives,program design and activities are well understood,have visibility and are intergrated into local development plans.
Provide information and guidence to coorporating partners to enhance service to  farmers and increase livelihood opportunities by working with private sector
Review coorporating partner reports,compare content to field monitor reports,escalate significant issues,agree on actions and ensure actions are implemented
Hold regulary coordination and progress meeting with coorporating partners,input provider and other partner.Provide timely formal and informal feedback on perforamnce.
Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operation queries and problems.Resolve issues raised through the Complains and Feebback Mechanism.
Work with government officials and partners to garner support for gender mainstreaming,hold gender advocacy sessions,monitor the implementation of gender activities.
Liase with internal counterparts (M7E,Finance,HR,Procuremenr and other Programm units, etc)to supporty effective collaboration,implementation and monitoring
Provide inputs to the sub-office report,donor reports and assesments.Gather succes stories to document project performance and raise visibility of activities.
Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications 

Education: The minimum education requirement for the position is a university degree in one or more of the following disciplines: Community Development, Nutritional Sciences, Agriculture or other related field.

Experience:

Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, agriculture, gender, etc.).
Has managed the implementation of development programmes at field level.
Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
Has supervised staff.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Kiswahili.
